World Record ‘speedcuber’ Charlie Eggins from Brisbane uses the famous puzzle to show how God solves our biggest problem ever

Three years ago, when Charlie Eggins was 13, he held the World Record for the fastest time solving a Rubik’s Cube – blindfolded.

Yes, blindfolded.

“That was a ‘crazy solve’,” Brisbane teen Charlie shares about setting that 12.10 seconds record.

Yes, 12:10 seconds.

On Charlie’s Swift Cubing channel on Youtube, you can check out heaps of cool videos of this young Australian lad whizzing through the famous puzzle.

Among the records, tutorials and ‘speedcuber’ jokes, Charlie dropped a video that instantly grabbed our attention.

“A year or two ago, my Dad and I realised that The Cube is a great illustration of the Gospel,” said Charlie from his Brisbane home, before heading off to school.

“Imagine a perfectly solved Rubik’s Cube. All the colours are matched up. It’s completely perfect.

“This is like when God created the world – everything was perfect. God said it was good. All right and perfect, like a solved Rubik’s cube.

“But then, humans sin, and that’s like grabbing The Cube and twisting and turning it and scrambling it.”

In only a few minutes, Charlie continued to explain how the problem of sin is overturned by Jesus.

Along the way, you can learn how there is a move you can make with a Rubik’s Cube that means it is impossible to solve.

“No matter what we try, we cannot solve it,” Charlie said.

“We need something else to come and fix us and make us good again and make the world good again.

“That thing is a person – God himself came down, in Jesus.

“Every time you see a Rubik’s Cube, you can remember the Gospel [of Jesus] and the immense love that God has for us.”

Learn how to share Jesus naturally through movies, music, and stories. Discover pop culture bridges for meaningful faith conversations.

By: yesHEis

You’ve got a friend. You care about them. And at some point, you’ve probably wondered:

“How do I talk about Jesus in a way that actually makes sense to them?

“They didn’t grow up going to church.”

“They’re not super interested in religion.”

But you still want to share your faith in a way that feels real, not weird.

You’re not alone. A lot of us feel stuck here. We want to talk about Jesus, but we don’t want it to come across as forced, out of place, or like we’re delivering a lecture. So here’s a thought: instead of starting with theology, start with what they already know.

Movies. Music. TikTok. Video games. Stories they love.

These things can actually help you talk about Jesus in ways that feel natural and meaningful. Pop Culture Isn’t a Barrier — It’s a Bridge Most people today are way more familiar with the Marvel universe than with the Gospel of John. But that doesn’t mean you can’t talk about Jesus. It just means you might need to start somewhere else.

Pop culture is full of the kind of themes Jesus talked about: sacrifice, redemption, love, purpose, identity. When you make those connections, it opens the door to conversations that go deeper. Here are a few examples.

Start Where You’re Already Connected

The Chronicles of Narnia: When Aslan gives his life to save Edmund, it’s not just a powerful moment. It’s also a reflection of how Jesus gave His life for us. That story might already be familiar to your friend—and it could be the perfect way to introduce who Jesus really is.

The Legend of Zelda: In the game, Link risks everything to bring peace to a broken world. Sounds a lot like Jesus, right? He stepped into a broken world, faced evil head-on, and did what no one else could to bring hope and restoration.

Music: Take a song like “All of Me” by John Legend. It’s not just about romance. It taps into something we all want—real, unconditional love. That kind of love points to something deeper. It’s the kind of love God offers, and it can be a great starting point for a conversation about what love really means.

Four Ways to Connect Pop Culture with the Story of Jesus

1. Find Common Interests

Start with what they’re into—movies, books, games, music. Most of those stories carry deeper themes. Ask about what they love and why. Let that guide you into more meaningful territory.

Try saying:

“What kind of movies do you like?”

“Who’s your favourite artist right now?”

“You play that game a lot—what do you like about it?”

2. Draw Parallels

Once the conversation’s going, you can make some simple connections.

“You know how in Clash of Clans, you’re always building up defences to protect your base? It kind of reminds me of how people try to protect themselves in real life too. That’s something Jesus really speaks into for me—how I don’t need to do life alone or constantly be on guard.”

“Have you noticed how people on TikTok are always chasing likes and validation? I think we all want to be seen and accepted. I’ve found that in God—real love that doesn’t change depending on how I perform.”

“There’s that line in Blinding Lights—‘I’m running out of time’—and it makes me think of how often we chase stuff that never really satisfies. I used to do that too, but faith gave me something that lasts.”

3. Start with a Story

Sometimes it helps to start with something they already know well, like Star Wars.

“You know how Anakin is supposed to bring balance to the Force? That whole idea of a ‘chosen one’ reminds me of Jesus. He came to bring peace too—but not just between people, between us and God.”

“Think about Darth Vader. No matter how far gone he seemed, Luke still believed he could be redeemed. That’s exactly how I see what Jesus does with us.”

4. Encourage Curiosity

You don’t have to push a message—sometimes the best thing you can do is ask a good question.

“Why do you think we’re so drawn to stories about sacrifice?”

“Have you ever noticed how many songs are about being loved, fully known, or accepted? I think that says something about what we’re all longing for.”

These questions don’t pressure anyone. They just open space for a real conversation. And that’s where faith can start to take root. You Don’t Need a Sermon—Just a Starting Point

Using something your friend already cares about—music, movies, stories, trends—can be one of the most natural ways to begin a conversation about Jesus. You’re not changing the message. You’re just finding a better place to begin. You already know Jesus brings life, hope, and love. What if the story your friend’s been watching or listening to is actually preparing them to hear His?

So next time you’re chatting about your favourite series or what’s trending, listen closely. You might just find your opening. And when you do, go for it.

Disappointed after sharing your faith? Discover encouragement, biblical insight, and practical tips for sowing seeds with love and resilience

By: yesHEis

Have you ever felt disappointed after sharing Jesus with someone? Maybe a conversation about faith didn’t go as you’d hoped, your testimony didn’t seem to resonate, or an invitation to church was turned down. Can we tell you something?

It’s ok to feel disappointed when sharing Jesus didn’t go according to plan.

Disappointment often stems from the gap between our expectations and reality. Even Jesus faced this. In His hometown of Nazareth, He was rejected by the very people who knew Him best (Luke 4:16-30). His own disciples, despite witnessing His miracles and being in His presence, lacked faith during a storm (Matthew 8:23-27).

These moments likely didn’t unfold the way Jesus would have wanted. While disappointment is something we all encounter, the true test lies in how we choose to respond. If we’re not careful, disappointment can easily turn into discouragement when we start to believe we’ve failed. But the truth is: Successful evangelism isn’t dependent on the outcome, but on our faithfulness to sow the seeds.

In Matthew 13, Jesus shares a parable about a farmer scattering seeds on different types of soil. The results vary, not because of the sower’s effort but because of the condition of the soil. This reminds us that our job is to faithfully plant seeds—the state of the soil and the growth are in God’s hands.

If you’re reading this and feeling disappointed by an unexpected outcome after sharing Jesus, know that we celebrate you! You were obedient to the call to share the gospel and planted a seed of faith. But if this experience has left you wanting to grow and prepare for next time, here are three questions you can ask yourself to help sharpen your approach for your next opportunity to share Jesus.

1. What can I learn from last time?

While the growth of the seeds we plant depends on the condition of their heart and the work of the Spirit, we can use our past experiences to adjust our approach and give God’s Word the best chance to connect.

To do this, start by reflecting on your most recent experience sharing Jesus. Consider what went well and where there might be room for growth. If you’re looking for specific areas to reflect on, try asking yourself questions like:

Where did I sense God’s presence or guidance during the conversation?

How did I respond to their questions, concerns, or reactions?

Did I communicate Jesus in a way that was relatable and meaningful to them?

Was I actively listening to understand, or was I more focused on what I wanted to say?

Reflecting on these moments is a healthy step toward growth, but it’s important not to let it turn into overthinking. Celebrate the wins, note the learning points, and then move forward. Dwelling too long on a single experience can lead to self-doubt and discouragement. Instead, use what you’ve learned to be better prepared for the next opportunity God brings.

2. What can I expect for next time?

The expectations we have when planting seeds of faith can greatly affect the pressure we put on ourselves and how we feel about the outcome. The truth is, not every seed will show immediate results, but each one plays a role in the bigger story God is weaving.

If we judged the success of Jesus’ ministry at the moment of His crucifixion, it would have seemed like failure. Yet, it was the turning point in the greatest story ever told. Similarly, what can feel like a failed attempt to share Jesus, might actually be a step toward something greater that God is working on. So, let’s adjust our expectations to remember that God’s timing and purposes are beyond our understanding, and we can trust that His word never returns void (Isaiah 55:11).

3. What do I do now?

Keep sharing Jesus. Great evangelists don’t stand out because of a few successes—they stand out because they keep sharing Jesus, no matter the outcome. Every experience builds confidence and resilience, preparing us for the next opportunity God brings. If a conversation didn’t go as planned, take heart, reflect, and trust God for another opportunity. Steady, patient persistence can often testify to the power of faith in Jesus. The people we share our faith with may even start to think, “If they care enough to keep coming back lovingly and patiently, maybe there’s something to this.”

Take the next step—don’t let disappointment hold you back. Keep sharing Jesus with love and faithfulness, trusting that each effort counts. Reflect, adjust, and go again, knowing that God is working through you. Every seed you plant matters, and in His timing, there will be a harvest.

‍Start today; your faithfulness can make an eternal impact.

Sharing your faith doesn’t require perfect words. Discover how your personal Jesus story can powerfully connect with others.

By: yesHEis

“I feel too nervous or unprepared to share Jesus because I don’t have all the right words or knowledge.”

Sound familiar? You’re not alone. Many Christians feel this way—worried they won’t know what to say, or that they won’t be able to answer difficult questions. But here’s the good news: you don’t need to be an expert to share Jesus.

One of the easiest and most powerful ways to share your faith is by telling your own story.

Your story is your superpower.

Revelation 12:11 says, “They triumphed over him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” That verse tells us something incredible—your story matters. It’s part of how we overcome darkness. The story of how Jesus redeemed you is powerful because it’s honest, personal, and real. And no one can argue with that.

How to Share Your Story

You don’t need a script or special training. You just need to reflect on three simple questions:

1. What was life like before you met Jesus?

Think about what you struggled with, or what was missing. What was your mindset about Jesus or faith at the time?

2. How did you meet Jesus?

Was it through a friend, a church, or a personal moment? Focus on what was happening in your heart, mind, or spirit—not just the events.

3. What is your life like now with Jesus?

What’s changed since then? Maybe you’ve experienced peace, purpose, or healing. Highlight the transformation, even if it feels subtle.

That’s it. You don’t need perfect words. Just be yourself.

Here’s an example of how that might sound:

What was life like before you met Jesus?

“I felt like something was missing in my life. I was always searching for meaning but never finding it.”

How did you meet Jesus?

“A friend invited me to church, and for the first time, I felt like the message of Jesus was speaking directly to my heart. I realised that following Him was the path to the meaning I had been looking for.”

What is your life like now with Jesus?

“Now, I have a peace I can’t explain. I’m not searching anymore because I’ve found my purpose in Him.”

It’s simple, clear, and relatable. And because it’s personal, it’s powerful.

Remember, sharing Jesus isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about sharing your heart. Your story, however simple it may seem, could be the very thing that helps someone else take a step closer to Jesus.

Take five minutes today to write your story down. Then ask God to show you who to share it with. You never know the impact it might have.

Million Month is an initiative aiming share the gospel with one million people through one-on-one evangelism in 30 cities across Europe.

By: Laura Bennett

As war-weary communities across Europe and Ukraine cling to hope, Australian missionary Rachael Wilcox is stepping out in faith—partnering with churches and believers from around the globe for Million Month, a gospel outreach effort aiming to reach one million people in just 14 days.

“Million Month is an initiative [to] share the gospel with one million people through one-on-one evangelism in 30 cities across Europe,” missionary Rachael Wilcox said.

“At the same time, people are sharing and hearing the gospel in places like Paris, London, and Kyiv.”

For Rachael, the work is deeply personal

Now based in Kyiv, Ukraine, where she’s served for over two years, she sees first hand how faith is sustaining people in crisis.

“Even in the middle of war, God is restoring lives,” Rachael said.

“He’s saving souls and reclaiming hearts more now than ever.”

Rachael described daily life in Kyiv as unpredictable but grounded in resilience.

“There are air raids [but] you just do your best to go on with life,” Rachael said.

“People still get up, go to work, open their shops.

“In areas near the front lines, it’s far harder – people are just surviving – but many are turning to God.

“You have to pray for His peace and comfort.”

The vision for Million Month isn’t just about the two-week campaign but about cultivating a lifestyle of evangelism.

“We’re training people in discipleship and evangelism, so they’re equipped long after the event ends,” Rachael said.

Importantly, Million Month isn’t just for Europeans, with Rachael is calling on Aussies to join the movement in person or support through prayer.

“I’d love for Australians to come,” Rachael said.

“You won’t be alone – I’m an Aussie too!”

If you can’t come, “pray for Ukraine”.

“Pray for open hearts and God’s protection,” Rachael said.

“This is a historic moment… and when we unite in sharing the gospel, we’re stronger together.

“That’s the heart behind it all.”

Brian is a regular guy who loves Jesus and has a heart to share him with the people he meets every day. A chance encounter at a gas station became an opportunity to share Jesus in a miraculous way.

Brian was ready for that opportunity because he made one simple life choice…

The other day I was at a gas station. I noticed a dude who seemed to be limping, he looked like he was in pain. So I went up to him and I said “Hey man, can I pray for you?” he replied, “Sure, yeah, you can pray for me.”

It turned out he was a Muslim so he wasn’t bothered by me praying for him at all. I prayed that all his pain would go away. At first, nothing happened but after a few moments, he turned back to me and said that his pain had gone away! I said “That’s because Jesus loves you and cares for you.”

It was a super quick moment. He didn’t trust in Jesus at that moment but it planted a seed. And maybe further down the road, he’ll be open to hearing the Gospel.

An easy way I’ve found to start talking to people about Jesus is to ask “Hey, does that hurt?” because there are people everywhere who are in pain. I don’t always have the right words to say but I just try to build their connection to Jesus.

There is one decision I’ve made that has been super helpful in sharing the Gospel, when I go out into the world I simply keep my eyes open. Too often we’re so focused on ourselves we miss opportunities that are right in front of us. Sometimes there are things going on around you that the Lord wants you to see. He might want you to move in on someone else’s life. Right there at that moment. We need to learn to take our blinders off and ask God “What are you doing in this place around me?”

Pretty soon when you do this, you’ll start to see the needs of those around you. Everywhere you go, there’s somebody who needs a word of encouragement, kindness, an act of charity or healing through the gospel.

Anyone can do this.

You’ll be amazed at what comes across your path as you simply begin to move about your world with your eyes open.

In a targeted effort to help everyday Christians share their faith, CV (Christian Vision) has launched its new ‘yesHEis’ app.

The app, which drops on Monday, March 31, is a suite of practical tools, training resources, and interactive challenges, all designed to help believers in their evangelism efforts.

Features include a personal ‘evangelism tracker’, and a global map that displays evangelistic activity within the yesHEis community in real time. This map not only allows users to see their impact but also serves as a source of motivation – reminding them that they are part of a global movement.

Helping Believers Share Faith Confidently

YesHEis product manager, Frankie du Toit (pictured), said the vision of the app and its parent organisation was to help believers be intentional about evangelism.

“yesHEis is providing Christians with everything they need to make sharing Jesus a lifestyle,” he said. “Christians should feel inspired and be reminded every day that their actions are part of a larger movement. Through the app, we want to encourage them and support them, to stay motivated as they develop a lifestyle of evangelism.”
